Course Contents

This is a one day course from 10am – 5pm.

Class sizes are a maximum of 10 and we will supply each student with tools and materials to work with at their own work station.

On this day you will apply colour to natural wood using many products including gilt creams, PVA size, acrylic paints, wood stains, waxes and varnish.

Your projects will involve applying a gesso base to lighten and vary the frames “patina”, priming mouldings for a range of paint effects and working directly with the grain of natural mouldings.

We provide tea and coffee, a certificate of achievement and a full training manual. You don’t need to bring artwork for this workshop and we supply all of the materials to build your finished chevrons.  Don’t forget a packed lunch!

Overalls or art apron will be useful as the day can become quite messy! We provide latex gloves: if you are allergic to latex you might like to bring some vinyl gloves instead.
